    Welcome to my homepage

I am an NSF-L.E. Dickson postdoc at the Department of Mathematics at University of Chicago in Chicago, IL. I was a graduate student at the Department of Mathematicsat Yale University in New Haven, CT. I did my undergraduate studies at CalTech in sunny Pasadena, California. I was born and spent first 17 years of my life in the city called Vinnitsa, which is located in the heart of Ukraine. I have attended 3 schools there and I graduated from School #17.

    Research Interests

The main areas of my research are Dynamical Systems and ergodic theory. My graduate advisor is Gregory A. Margulis. I am interested in actions of semigroups of SL(n, Z) on n-dimensional torus. My interest in this was influence by Harry Furstenberg (currently at Hebrew University), after his lectures here at Yale in 1999. I am also interested in the growth of Grigorchuk's groups.
