Grading policy:
Homework is posted on website on Friday. This homework is due at noon (outside the office) the following Friday. There will be a midterm
(in place of one of the homework assignments) and a final. The exams together will be worth 50% of the grade, and the homework 50%. The only difference
between an exam and a regular homework is that collaboration is not allowed.
Description of course:
This is the third course in the year-long graduate
sequence in topology. The main topics covered are characteristic
classes, and spectral sequences.

- week 1, due Friday 11 April: these problems plus
Milnor 1-A, 1-B, 2-A, 2-C, 2-E
- week 2, due Friday 18 April: these problems plus
Milnor 3-E, 4-B, 4-C, 4-E
- week 3, due Friday 25 April: these problems plus
Milnor 5-B, 5-C, 5-E
- week 4, due Friday 2 May: Milnor 6-C, 6-D, 7-A, 7-B, 7-C
- week 5, MIDTERM due Friday 9 May: Milnor 4-D, 8-A, 9-C, 11-D, 11-E
- week 6, due Friday 16 May: Milnor 13-C, 13-E, 14-B, 15-A, 15-C
- week 7, due Friday 23 May: Milnor 16-A, 16-B, and read the proofs of Theorem 18.6 and Lemma 18.7
- week 8, FINAL due Friday 30 May: these problems plus Milnor 14-D, 14-E, and read Chapter 19
