Workshop site
The workshop will take place on the
main quad of the University of Chicago. Friday, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday sessions will be in
Ryerson 352 ("The Barn"), while Saturday morning sessions will be in
Eckhart 202. The two buildings are adjacent, and are connected on the upper floors.
Hotel Information
The
Ramada Lake Shore Chicago is located a little under two miles from the workshop site. If you prefer not to walk, the #172 city bus stops one block south of the Ramada, at Hyde Park & East End, and one block east of the workshop site, at Woodlawn & 58th. The southbound bus will take you from the Ramada to campus, and the northbound bus will take you back. Both directions run every 15-30 minutes depending on the day. For a bus schedule, click
here. For those needing additional assistance, we have arranged for a shuttle to take participants from the Ramada to the workshop site on Saturday and Sunday morning. The shuttle can only accommodate 8-9 people, and can only make two trips, so we ask that individuals yield seats to those in greater need.
Transportation
There are two airports serving Chicago, of which Midway Airport is closer to the University of Chicago than O'Hare Airport. If you prefer to go by taxi, there should be no trouble getting one at either airport on your way in, and the hotel can call you one on your way out or you can do so directly by calling 312-829-4222. You can also take the
