About Me

Curriculum Vitae (PDF) (updated December 19, 2011)

I am a mathematics PhD student at the University of Chicago, where I previously completed a BS in mathematics and a BA in physics. I also spent a year as a PhD student at the Courant Institute. My advisor is Vladimir Drinfeld.

I am interested in the algebra and geometry of tensor categories, and more broadly in the study of "quantum" structures in mathematics. This area lies at the intersection of numerous mathematical disciplines, including representation theory, low-dimensional topology, homotopy theory, and category theory. I have have a side interest in the application of the theory of tensor categories to quantum computation.
