My comments on Steve's HW 2 Comments...You can do problem 1 by expanding on the idea of combining terms that Steve mentions cannot be used lackadaisically. To do so you'll have to use partial sums and make a formal argument there.

(His first proof for 5(a) is incorrect, since you don't know that the limit point is in the set. This was the same error I made in office hours. The Nested Interval Theorem also helps here)

My comments on Steve's comments: I disagree that a script O is horrible notation for the zero vector (although it has other meanings in other contexts). His notation is definitely standard, but the main point is that you should distinguish between the zero vector and the additive identity of the field. I also like using bolded letters for vectors, but that's hard to write on paper.
