Sharkovsky's theorem

Let F: R -> R be a continuous function. Sharkovsky's theorem says that if F has a periodic point of period m, then F has a periodic point of period n as long as m < n for a certain ordering of the integers. This talk will give an elementary proof of Sharkovsky's theorem.
