My Basics (circa 2005)

I am a graduating student at the University of Chicago, supervised by Alex Eskin, and also by Howie Masur (UIC) and Benson Farb.
This year, I am supported by an AAUW Dissertation Fellowship.
This just in!... Next year, I'll be a postdoc at UC Davis.
I'm going to spend the month of January (or so) visiting Lausanne and Geneva.

Fields of interest: Teichmuller theory, hyperbolic geometry and low-dimensional topology, ergodic theory, geometric group theory, rational billiards

Current research: a thin triangle property for Teichmuller space; a "multiplicative" ergodic theorem for the mapping class group

Teaching

At U Chicago, I've been the principal instructor for the following courses:
Math 19500-19600 (Lin Alg-Multivar Calc), Math 15100-15200 (Calculus), Math 11200 (Studies in Mathematics)

The University assembles evaluations pages from some of our courses. Here are all the pages available from my classes, re-linked so you don't need a U of C password: 112 (Fall '02), 152 (Winter '02), 151 (Fall '01)

I co-taught a summer course for undergraduates on "The Mathematics of Billiards" on a Focused Research Grant from the NSF

I've also co-taught an introductory Gender Studies course and have been involved in a number of community outreach teaching programs.
