Welcome to the Droste experiments!

I created these pictures after I saw the ones created by Jos Leys

The mathematics that creates these is surprisingly simple, and is explained here (also by Jos Leys).

You can see a lot of other Droste pictures at flickr.

And here is the original research, focusing on a drawing of Escher's.

Most of these were created using this perl script, relying mostly on the "transform2" feature of the Imager perl module.

I made the last one using this code for MathMap.
